Gorakhani Welfare Society (GWS) was founded to improve the condition of the people of hilly regions in education and economy. Nepal, being a mountainous country where 44% of the people live in the tribal hills, scattering widely, clustered into small hamlets. And most of them (communities/areas) suffer from the food deficits, lack of educational awareness and schooling facilities. Thus, in order to cope with above mentioned problems GWS has aimed to launch following activities in this parts of Nepal.

• Launching primary schools and introduction of adult literacy classes to the remote village Gorakhani.
• Managing free education, freely distribution of educational materials, School uniform and all other basic needs by the students for their academic curricula. (117 Students in 2007).
• Provides different community based trainings to enable them to take part in Local and national income resources.
• Assists to undertake community development projects, especially to improve the quality of life of these remote areas peoples.
• Helps in economical uplift through tourism
• Creates a kind of situation which will help to improve sense of cooperation as well as the sense of harmonious relationship, to pave a way toward the peaceful situation in communities.
• Bringing awareness at the new generation people about benefit of conserving their language, costume and culture which could be defined as one of the main jewels of each, community, and nation and of this world.
• Going to start Apple project. Apple and others fruits plantation, Train to make fruits things (Dry fruit, Jam, Juice and Brandi).
